Two days, two gold medals; no big deal. Business as usual for Oakley snowboard star Shaun White as he secured his second Winter X Games Tignes gold medal in two days. A day after completely dominating the Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe event in France, Shaun completed the back-to-back gold medal performance, taking the top spot in the Slopestyle event for the first time since 2009.

“These guys have been pushing the limits of what’s possible in the Slopestyle course and they put the gauntlet in front of me,” Shaun said about the event. “I think I’ve finally caught up and I’m happy to be back.”

Shaun earned a 95 and 97 in his first two runs, again separating himself from the competition at Winter X Games Tignes. His top scoring second attempt at the Slopestyle course included three impressive double corks in a row, including a switch double cork 1080 and two double cork 1260’s.

Shaun’s second gold medal of the week in Tignes is his 24th overall Winter X Games medal and his 16th gold.

“I was just happy to win the pipe and come out here and try my best,” he said. “I’m just ecstatic.”

Fellow Oakley rider Mark McMorris joined Shaun on the podium with a silver medal. Mark, a double gold medalist in Slopestyle and Big Air at Winter X Games Aspen in January, scored a 90 to earn the silver medal in the Slopestyle Finals at Winter X Games Tignes.

“It’s been a good contest. The weather is nice, the jumps are big, the rails are heavier than last year. Obviously, Shaun is back,” Mark said. “Back in black. I’m just going to have to come back and beat him next year.”

We love a friendly rivalry and we love a gold and silver medal for the Oakley riders. Shout out to Shaun for his two new pieces of gold neckwear and congrats to Mark on his Winter X Games Tignes silver.
