Oakley Women Athletes to Take NBC Spotlight on the WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS® - Aug. 28
Oakley’s female action sports athletes have been owning their respective sports for quite some time. It’s only fitting that they’d be featured on NBC’s weekend show, WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS®, for pushing the envelope each and every day.
This Saturday’s episode (Aug. 28), set to air at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, will be heavily laced with Oakley team riders. US Open of Surf Pro Junior Champions (including O’s Sage Erickson) will get some love, while a beautiful collection of our female athletes will be featured as a part of the Oakley “Uniquely” campaign – a six-section, travel-inspired women’s multi-sport film.
Don’t miss the broadcast on your local NBC Station.

The next episode will feature:
• The 2010 US Open of Surfing Presented by Nike 6.0 and Hurley: There’s no surf stadium like the Huntington Beach Pier and it remains the Headliner at the US Open, with five separate events, 300-plus competitors and more than $300,000 in prizemoney on the table. WOAS hits what is arguably one of the planet’s best surf comps where surfers are out to clinch the crucial ratings points on offer towards their ASP World Ranking while ASP Pro Junior surfers look to finish atop their regional ratings to qualify for the inaugural ASP World Junior Tour.
• Oakley “Uniquely”: “Uniquely”is a 6-section travel inspired women’s multi–sport (snowboard, ski, surf, skate, wake) film that exposes the “unique” personalities and lifestyles of the athletes involved as they pass the baton, or camera, from one location to the next. WOAS takes an inside look at the athletes and adventures featured in “Uniquely”
• Rhys Millen’s Pikes Peak Hill Climb: On June 27, 2010, Rhys Millen attempted to beat the current “Unlimited Class” World Record of 10:01.408 at the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the “Race to the Clouds.” For 10 years, it has been Rhys’s dream to break the 10-minute barrier and this year he hoped to capture the elusive record and return it to the Millen name.
• Red Bull Stomping Ground: The top riders in BMX head to Chicago to compete for over $50,000 in prize money at the Red Bull Stomping Ground, where an abandoned lot will be converted into the ultimate dirt playground designed by BMX legend Fuzzy Hall.
