On Fire: Rory McIlroy Extends Hot Streak At BMW Championship
There’s no better term to describe Rory McIlroy than “on fire.” The young Northern Irishman has been on a role as of late and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. As the golf world prepares for the Tour Championship and the conclusion of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in the upcoming weeks, McIlroy looks to be one step ahead of the game. The 23-year-old won his second tour stop in a row, claiming the BMW Championship at Crooked Stick on Sunday. Banking on his PGA Championship victory six days prior, McIlroy capped off another successful weekend with a final day 5-under 67 to hold off veterans Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood by two strokes on the weekend. This was McIlroy’s third Tour victory in his last four tournaments.

His win in Massachusetts marked the third victory of the year for McIlroy and moved him to the top spot in the FedEx Cup standings.

McIlroy won the 2012 PGA Championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina.
