Bio
Brendan Steele is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Steele turned professional in 2005. In 2008 he joined the Nationwide Tour before earning his PGA Tour card for the 2011 season.
Steele won his first PGA Tour event in 2011 at the Valero Texas Open, topping Jevin Chappell and Charley Hoffman by one stroke. His win in Texas made Steele the third PGA Tour rookie to win a PGA tournament. His victory secured him not only a cool $1.1million but a guaranteed PGA Tour card until 2013 as well as invites to the Players Championship, Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship and the 2012 Masters.

When did you first start swinging a club? Where/why?
I was 13 when I first started to play golf. My older brother was really into the sport and I wanted to do everything he did, so I started taking lessons in Hemet, CA and took off from there.

When did you turn pro?
As soon as I graduated college in June 2005.

What are the events, wins, memories that stand out most throughout your career so far?
All my wins stand out to me for different reasons. Nationwide Tour Championship because it secured my PGA Tour Card, The Valero Texas Open because it was my first win as a rookie on the PGA Tour, and the Shark Shootout because it was the most fun tournament I have every participated in and I got to take home the trophy with a good friend, Keegan Bradley.

f there’s one thing that people in the industry would recognize you by, what would that be?
People call me “Steeley” on the course so I have it printed on all my hats.

I listen to a lot of Indie rock when I practice. Anything from Mumford & Sons, Airborne Toxic Event and the Punch Brothers.
